Find Your Strongest Life: What the Happiest and Most Successful Women Do Differently
Today women are better educated, have better jobs, better pay, more choices about mates, careers ... just about everything. But that has not translated into women being happier. Actually with more choices the opposite is true. Womens overall happiness has been on a steady decline since 1972. This decline in happiness occurs across the board, regardless of whether women have children, how many they have, or how much they earn. Marcus Buckingham is a well known researcher. He has written five previous books which centered around the concept that each person will be happiest when they are working from their greatest strength. Find Your Strongest Life got its start from a three hour workshop with Oprah. The workshop was conducted with 30 talented but unfulfilled women. In his mission statement Marcus says, "My mission is to help each person identify her strengths, take them seriously and offer them to the world." As you read the book you will discover facts, read some eye opening research, and see that many women are living a life based on myths more so than truth. Reading the stories of women seeking will help you to see that you are not alone on this journey. |

Evaluating The Effectiveness Of Your Personal Leadership Development Plan
In order to boost employee morale and motivation, you implemented personal leadership development plans for those in leadership positions. Now you need to know if the personal leadership development plan is working how you want it to. Evaluating The Personal Leadership Development Plan Article to continue below----------------------------------------------
There are several things to look at when you are evaluating the effectiveness of the plan. First, look at the reaction of your employees. How do they feel about the plan? Do they feel like it can work? Second, look at what your employees are learning. What has the employee learned from the personal leadership development plan? Next evaluate behaviors, as in what skills the employee developed and what new information he or she is using while on the job. Finally, look at the results. You cannot argue with results. What results happened after implementing personal leadership development plans? Are employees more motivated and do they desire to be in leadership positions? Were the new skills actually applied to their jobs? Sometimes it can be difficult to effectively evaluate the success rate of the personal leadership development plan, however. Suggestions For Evaluating Effectiveness Of The Development Plan Article to continue below----------------------------------------------
There are several things that you must look for when evaluating the effectiveness of your personal leadership development plan. You will be looking for validity, reliability in evaluations, and accuracy in those evaluations. Look at practical evaluation approaches that stay within your company's individual needs. Some of the most effective evaluation tools center around information gathered during the implementation process. Have employees answer questions while they go through their personal leadership development plan. Make sure that they fully understand everything in the plan before they even start it. Throughout the implementation of the plan, have short tests to make sure that the employees are staying on track. Finally, how is the employee's attitude about the plan? Does he or she want to improve or become a better leader? Is he or she actively participating in every aspect of the personal leadership development plan, or is he or she simply skating by with doing the bare minimum? A true leader will emerge through this development plan as someone who is willing to go above and beyond what the plan requires. Knowing Your Plan Is Working There is a simple way to know whether or not your leadership development plans are working in your company. If more people are stepping up to the plate, taking on more responsibility, and leading tasks they may otherwise have stayed away from, you can bet that each personal leadership development plan is working.
