Your Temperament enables you to make a valuable contributions to your life; but it also causes you to neglect other values, creating a psychological ‘blind spot” for you.

Among them, the panic disorder, also known as panic attack or anxiety attack is the worst. Brief but intense terror or apprehension, accompanied by trembling, shaking, confusion, dizziness, nausea, difficulty in breathing etc engulfs the patient when such attacks take place. Some fear that they are going to die immediately and others feel they are on the verge of becoming insane. Although the feelings and the symptoms pass away in half an hour, they leave a lasting impression on the mind of the sufferer and can psychologically cripple him for good. Administration of anxiety disorder medications can only help him at that moment.
One of the most common anxiety attack medications is Xanax. This medication is a very powerful sedative and you need to be very careful when you are on this medication. Sometimes, you may do things that you will probably not do when you are under the influence of the Xanax medication. Along with the anxiety disorder medication, the doctors will also give you general well being advice such as o Stop smoking cigarettes o Stop drinking alcohols o Stop engaging in adventurous activities such as paragliding o Cut off fatty foods from your diet o Cut off too much sugarsThere are two types of anxiety disorder medications. One belongs to anti-depressant groups and others to the benzodiazepines group. Medicines, belonging to the benzodiazepines group are fast acting and show results in one or two weeks if taken regularly. Moreover, they start acting as soon as you pop one in the mouth and can stop the attacks from becoming full blown. However, their span of influence is very short and that is why one often becomes addicted to it.

Anxiety Raises Heart Attack Risk
Anxiety increases heart patients likelihood of suffering a heart attack, stroke, or heart failure, new research shows.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alprazolam, known under the trade name of Xanax is one such medication belonging to the benzodiazepines group. In the USA, it has been put under schedule IV under the controlled Substance Act. However, this medicine has made its place in the treatment for anxiety attack because of its fast acting quality. If taken with care, this medicine can bring great relief to anxiety attack patients. However, it cannot cure your anxiety attacks; neither should you take it for along term regularly. Of course, your psychiatrist knows all this. He will definitely warn you about the bad effects it can have on your body and your nervous system. Unless the condition is acute, he may not prescribe it at all.
Xanax falls in the first category of anxiety disorder medications. Xanax is merely the brand name; its genetic name is Alprazolam. It acts on the central nervous system to produce a calming effect. If you take one at the onset, it can stop the attack from becoming full blown. Many patients carry this medicine all the time. As such, it should not be taken more than eight weeks on regular basis. Trying to break a drug habit can be very difficult and you will definitely face a lot of problems. So, the next time, your doctor prescribes the anti-anxiety medications, make sure you have all the questions ready for him or her. The first question that you must not miss to ask is: Do these anti-anxiety drugs have side effects? If the doctor says a yes, ask him or her what the side effects are. You need to be mentally prepared for the consequences of the ant-anxiety medications. One more thing to be noted is that you may show tolerance to the anti-anxiety drugs. This means that as time goes by, you will need higher and higher doses of the same medication to get the same results as previously. This has to stop at some place; you cannot go on an on with the same drug. Check out with your doctor for some mild medications that will give you the desired effect with minimum harm to the body. However, Xanax or any other medicine of benzodiazepines group can never cure your panic attacks; they can at the most keep them under control. Antidepressants like SSRIs, MAOIs, tricyclic too blocs the symptoms only by altering the neurotransmitter configurations, but cannot cure anxiety disorder. The only benefit of the later group is that they can be taken for a longer period without developing drug dependency. If you really want to cure the anxiety disorder, undergo psychotherapy while you continue with the anxiety disorder medicines as directed by the doctor.
As a leading expert in the field of anxiety or panic attacks, Beth Kaminski is always on the lookout for ways to treat panic attacks. Visit her site for more information on treating panic disorder and much more.

There are nine Temperaments. Fifty percent (50%) of your happiness is determined by your Temperament.

Why do we use numbers?
Names such as: Ones, are the:, Perfectionist, Reformer, Judge, Crusader, Critic are commonly used to decribed the Temperaments Types. We use numbers instead of any names.
We use numbers to designate each of the Temperament Types because numbers are value neutral. They imply the whole range of attitudes and behaviors of each Temperament without specifying anything either positive or negative.
The numerical ranking of the Types is not significant. A larger number is no better than a smaller number.
No Temperament Type is inherently better or worse than any other. While all the Temperament Types have unique assets and liabilities, some Types are often more desirable than others in our society.
You may not be happy with your particular Type. You may feel that your Type is “limited" in some way. As you learn more about all the Types, you will see that just as each has unique capacities, each has different “limits.”
People do not change from one basic Temperament Type to another. Some Types are more valued in our society than others; it is because of the qualities that society rewards, not because of any superior value of those Types.
The descriptions of the Temperament Types apply equally to males and females, since no Type is inherently masculine or feminine. Not everything in the description of your basic Type will apply to you all the time because you fluctuate constantly.
Why aren’t all people with a given Temperament Type successful?
You probably know a bunch of people with the same Temperament Type. Why are some successful and others are not. Why the difference? The difference is Emotional Intelligence. We use Emotional Quotient. (EQ) as a shorthand to describe Emotional Intelligence.
A person may have a high IQ. They did well in school, maybe have a college diploma or even an advanced degree. They may even be in MENSA, the select high-IQ club and still fail in business and relationships. Why are they not successful?
The answer:
Your IQ determines 20 % of your success, which leaves 80% to other forces. This is stated by Daniel Goleman the Author of “Emotional Intelligence.”
A person with a high IQ does not mean they know how to manage their thoughts and feelings any more successfully than a person with a low IQ. Success requires taking the emotional data, making sense of that data, and integrating it into your decision-making. People with higher EQ does this better.
By increasing your EQ you can use your thoughts and emotions of your Temperament Type to make the best possible decisions. Increased EQ help you get optimal results from your relationships with yourself and others.
EQ challenges the conventional belief that emotions are in the way of good decisions. By increasing your EQ it is possible to learn how to use your emotions to make better decisions. By increasing your EQ, it is possible to increase your wisdom and energy required for high performance. The Increasing your EQ is a teachable life skill. If people get better at these life skills, everyone benefits: The brain doesn't distinguish between being a more empathetic manager and a more empathetic father
