The research says it takes around six seconds for those molecules of emotion to get absorbed back into your body after you've had a reaction. For someone to recognize the feeling of compassion -- and it was around six seconds.

Thus, Joshua Freedman's organization was named "Six Seconds"

It takes six seconds to manage anger.
It takes six seconds to create compassion.
It takes six seconds to change the world.

There is science behind the name and the flood that is triggered, delivered, and absorbed in about six seconds of even emotion.

'Self Talk'- it colors our thinking, it is the thoughts that we accept and subconsciously or consciously act on, which then shapes our attitude.


Habit - A pattern or action that is acquired and has become so automatic that it is difficult to break. The best and most effective way to develop good habits are to identify the habits that are bad, be aware of them and start replacing them with positive habits that would be helpful to you and propel you into a successful and positive outlook on life.

Your subconscious mind makes you take action based on your habits.


Forming Positive Habits;


As I mentioned before a habit is an action or pattern that becomes automatic, so for positive habits to become automatic they need to be so practiced that they become second nature. The best way to do this is to start with your thinking. If you do away with negative thoughts they can't develop into negative habits.


There are many suggestions for breaking negative thoughts such as:
Journal writing Thought stopping and maybe in more extreme cases Rubber Band snapping.


Journal Writing: You can use it to make notes of your thoughts, negative and positive, so that you can have an idea of how much negative thoughts you have in contrast to the positive ones.


Some other ways to form positive habits are to make daily affirmations, take risks, clearly list the goals that you want to reach, and making plans and work towards them.


Take risks- People who consistently win are willing to get out of their comfort zone and try new things. Be willing to plunge into the unknown if necessary, and leave behind the safe, unchallenging, and familiar existence in order to have more.


Making Plans- This gives you the opportunity to have a clear picture, in your mind, of the things that you want to achieve in life and your mind and attitude will change to suit.


Have you ever taken a good look at the people that are really and truly successful? What are their attitudes? I am most certain that the answers to these questions will be NO!


Positive habits require positive thinking and positive thinking requires positive attitudes.


Nothing in life is easy and breaking negative habits are no different. When you make the decision to adopt positive habits, do it with the understanding that a habit needs to be regularly and consciously practiced before it becomes automatic.


Now you know everything you need to know and identify to learn positive habits you are now better equipped with the tools you need to achieve any and every goal.

The Just Wait Teen Program

The teenagers of the Just Wait Teen™ program  are exposed to the information and research concerning their Happiness, their Temperaments, their Talents, their Attributes, their Gifts and how to maintain long term relationships. The Just Wait Teen™ program  is life enhancing program, not a substance rehabilitation program. Although its' objective is to give the teens tools and understandings to reach 21 years - substance free.

This Program was developed by the Just Wait Foundation a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit corporation to prevent drug, alcohol, and tobacco problems among teenagers. The Foundation provides one-year scholarships (two semesters) at a Community College or $1000 award to teens that completes the 4 year Just Wait Teen™ Positive Youth Development Program, obtains a GED, or graduates from high school - alcohol, tobacco, and drug free. The Just Wait Foundation has arranged to use of 80 acres to raise fruit and vegetables to finance the scholarships

We offer free training for any person or group that wants to start this program in their community.
