"Depression Healing , Fours Feel that, They have a secret self that no one knows"

The Spiritual Dimension of the Enneagram: Nine Faces of the Soul
by Sandra Maitri

Sandra Maitri's "The Spiritual Dimension of the Enneagram" is, without doubt, the most insightful and meaningful book on the nine temperaments, but caution potential readers that this is not a "beach read" and is best suited as reading for those who are seriously ready to take a deeper look at their own psycho-spiritual essence and soul. This is not a pop-psychology "personality typing" book, but rather a valuable guide for people on their journey of self-discovery, transformation and self-realization.

The book DOES touch on the Nine Temperaments of the enneagram in the personality type" context most people know it, and it covers the psychological aspects of the different types. The majority of "The Spiritual Dimension of the Enneagram" is dedicated to a thorough discussion of each of the nine temperaments, examining the way each has "lost touch" with its essence or "Holy Idea;" describing the psychological and environmental circumstances for these losses, and then offering guidance on how to recover the part of the self that has been lost.

The term "sprituality" by no means makes this a "religious" book. Instead, it is a book about understanding and healing our souls, regardless of religious orientation.

The study of the Nine Temperaments is called the Enneagram and is described in the free ebook listed above. The Enneagram types (Temperaments) are not made up of lists of character traits, but are founded in a person's core values. Each Temperament represents what that person considers something very important to their life such as power, security, harmony, knowledge, fulfillment, i.e.

Your Temperament enables you to make a valuable contributions to your life; but it also causes you to neglect other values, creating a psychological ‘blind spot” for you.

This is why, if you:

“KEEP DOING WHAT YOU BEEN DOING, YOU WILL CONTINUE TO GET WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN GETTING.”

Beyond Depression and Anxiety
It may be hard to perceive the link between anxiety and depression. Depression is often characterized by a feeling of listlessness, while heightened anxiety may have more prominent physical symptoms. The astounding truth is that most people in a high state of anxiety also suffer from depression, which can lead to frequent panic attacks.
Where both conditions (depression and anxiety) are present together, both the problems get intensified. Depression needs prolonged and continuous treatment and when it is accompanied by an anxiety disorder, the mixed anxiety depression treatment becomes increasingly difficult.

The association between anxiety and depression is often vaguely understood. Low energy is a symptom of depression and with anxiety beyond a certain limit show typical associated symptoms.

Recognizing Mixed Anxiety Depression
People suffering from anxiety experience:

Low energy, tension,
Palpitation and restlessness.
Shakiness,
Muscle throbbing,
Sweating, Cold and clammy hands
Feeling of Dizziness,
Fast heart beats
Dryness in the mouth.

The signs and symptoms of depression vary from person to person, and depend on the severity of the condition:

Depressed Mood
Decreased sense of Pleasure or Interest
Weight Fluctuations
Insomnia or Sleep Disturbances
Psychomotor Retardation or Agitation
Feelings of Worthlessness or Guilt
Diminished ability to think
Inability to concentrate
Suicidal thoughts

When a patient shows all or most of the above mentioned symptoms, they are said to be affected by mixed anxiety depression and the condition demands mixed anxiety depression treatment.

Mixed Anxiety Depression Treatment
A number of remedies for treating anxiety and depression such as prescription drugs, cognitive behavior therapy, herbal alternatives, dietary supplements etc are available. Some people also feel that mixed anxiety depression treatment can be done without taking recourse to any kind of medication at all. However, successful treatments for anxiety and depression should be an ideal combination of psychotherapy and medication.

Medicines
Although medications are not enough to cure anxiety- depression disorders, they are effective in helping the sufferer to deal with the symptoms. Medications are used in conjunction with psychotherapy to control the signs of anxiety-depression disorders.

It can take up to six weeks for the full effects of Antidepressants to alter the chemistry of the brain. However most begin to work on some indicators immediately.
Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRIs are also help brain cells by increasing the amount of serotonin in the brain. Serotonin helps to regulate brain functions like sleep, moods and learning. They have proved to be most effective in treating anxiety-depression disorders.
Physical conditions which accompany most anxiety-depression disorders can also be prevented with the help of Beta-blockers.

Therapy
A very important part of treatment is Therapy. It is most effective and especially important for treating the psychological aspects of anxiety-depression disorder...

CBT or Cognitive-behavioral therapy is meant to change the way of thinking in anxiety-depression disorder sufferers. It also changes the way these people react to anxiety-depression triggering situations.
The CBT therapist helps the patient by involving them in a role-playing of actual situations. CBT therapists also teach relaxation techniques.
CBT must be specific to the individual disorder. It only works when the anxiety-depression disorder patient is ready to face their fear and overcome them.
This treatment may incorporate group therapy and the course may last for up to three months.

Exercise
Finally, a great treatment for both anxiety-depression disorders is ‘Exercise.’ Exercise releases endorphins and increases serotonin in the brain. It also provides a diversion from negative thoughts and helps increase your positive lookout on life. However, exercise is not a lone treatment it should accompany psychotherapy and medication.

Conclusion
A number of treatment methods were developed after researching the fact that anxiety shares a deep connection with depression and their parallel occurrence is often referred to as mixed anxiety depression disorder. A combination of psychotherapy and medication has found to be the best treatment method.

Controlling panic attacks is vital in both treatments of anxiety and depression, the skill used in coping with panic attacks are very similar to depression, some time they share the same tecniques.
