Because the effects of insomnia often make anxiety disorders worse, an insomniac will experience heightened panic, fast breathing, excessive worry and apprehension. In such situations it can feel unbearable and too powerful to deal with for the sufferer.
Depression and anxiety disorders are generally the result of negative life experiences that have made us fear certain situations and unable to cope. They affect millions of people worldwide. But fortunately there are ways to deal with such disorders. Self-help is by far the most effective way at tackling anxiety disorders. Talk to your doctor or therapist about self-help and what it can do for you.
Such self-help includes techniques such as hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Other complimentary therapies that require a specialist, medical practitioner or therapist include acupuncture, reflexology and homeopathy. In many cases disorders such as depression, phobia and anxiety are the cause for sleepless nights. An insomniac may just find by tackling their disorder that their sleep improves or resumes as normal.
